Job Overview

This position is a full-time opportunity for active-duty service members eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment, including tractors, trailers, and other vehicles, ensuring compliance with all trucking regulations. The role involves documentation, road rescue duties, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

1. Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and repair diesel equipment.
2. Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
3. Complete repair documentation, including repair orders and parts logs.
4. Handle road service calls and perform road rescue as needed.
5. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
6. Backup support for other maintenance personnel.
7. Adopt increased responsibilities and certifications as required.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 2 years with relevant certifications.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals and communicate effectively.
• Must furnish personal hand tools.
• CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and overtime as needed.
