Overview

TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY AS PART OF THE DOD SKILLBRIDGE PROGRAM

This program offers eligible Service Members approved for the DoD SkillBridge initiative the opportunity to gain firsthand experience and insights into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources, and procedures. Participants will support focused areas, applying their knowledge and education, engaging in collaborative team environments, and interacting with multiple departments. They will utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques, and creative problem-solving abilities. The role involves professional execution of daily tasks and special projects within established standards, policies, and procedures.

Role Description

The Scrum Master collaborates closely with the Product Owner to prioritize and lead the delivery of the initiative's capabilities. Responsibilities include removing impediments, facilitating team meetings and events, and fostering a high-performance environment. The Scrum Master manages the team's continuous workflow, advocates for, adopts, and coaches on lean, agile, and scrum practices. This position involves working on complex projects with minimal supervision, accountable for deliverables and milestones, and mentoring junior staff. It is considered a senior-level position requiring proficiency and discipline.

Responsibilities
  1. Exhibit behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader by embracing SAFe core values, principles, and practices.
  2. Support Scrum team rules, eliminate impediments, and promote continuous improvement and efficiency.
  3. Ensure technology and service delivery roadmaps support the solution strategy and are sustainable.
  4. Facilitate team progress toward goals using Program Increment (PI) Objectives as Iteration Goals.
  5. Clarify goals, scope, and backlog items to ensure team understanding and capability to fulfill them.
  6. Collaborate with Product Owner, customers, and developers to define and clarify scope and requirements.
  7. Enhance communication and relationships with other delivery teams; represent the team in Scrum of Scrums meetings.
  8. Challenge traditional development norms to improve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
  9. Support software development teams in applying Scrum frameworks.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Functional and technical expertise in at least one analytics or business intelligence application or product.
  • Significant project management experience with strong fundamentals in analytics, data integration, and visualization.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Applications (e.g., Azure, Data Bricks).
  • Proficiency in software development and system administration.
  • Experience in resource allocation and management.
  • Leadership experience guiding professional staff.
  • Experience leading agile teams and facilitating Agile meetings.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Preferred: Experience in Banking/Finance/Investments, familiarity with industry standards and regulations, certifications like CSM or PMI-ACP, advanced database and presentation skills, and an advanced degree in relevant fields.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180

Salary: $110,500 - $162,850 (Note: SkillBridge participants continue to receive military compensation and benefits; Navy Federal does not provide additional salary during the program.)
