Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems seeks an Occupational Safety Specialist to support Safety and Occupational Health Initiatives for the CECOM program on Aberdeen Proving Ground. The role involves ensuring compliance with SOH directives, assisting managers, and communicating safety matters to staff.

The candidate will conduct daily hazard scanning, log incidents, and coordinate corrective actions while participating in training and monthly inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or related technical discipline; OSHA CSP/ASP desired.
• 5+ years of progressive safety program management experience in industrial/defense environments.
• Active security clearance desired or ability to obtain/maintain.
• MS Office proficiency with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SOH directives, standards, and regulations.
• Assist managers and SOH specialists in implementing the SOH program.
• Provide communications channel between employees and management on safety.
• Log and report hazards, near-misses, and accidents promptly.
• Conduct daily safety walk-throughs to identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety communications and updates to employees in the work area.
• Participate in safety trainings and inspections; support investigations.
