Job summary

Koam Engineering Systems, Inc. (KES Inc.) in San Diego seeks a Network Engineer II to support DoD NOC operations and enterprise network infrastructure.

You will design, configure, implement, and sustain complex networks including routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, TACLANE encryption, and cybersecurity compliance, with a DoD clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Security+ (DoD IAT Level II) or able to meet requirements within three months.
• U.S. Government DoD security clearance/eligibility at final Secret level and ability to obtain background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, TACLANE encryption devices, and supporting network infrastructure across multiple enclaves and security domains.
• Engineer and implement network solutions using TCP/IP, OSPF, VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, RPVST+, GRE, IPsec, ACLs, multicast, PIM, IGMP.
• Diagnose complex routing, switching, firewall, encryption, multicast, connectivity, and network performance issues using packet analysis and diagnostic tools.
• Plan and execute network installations, configuration changes, software and firmware upgrades, migrations, cutovers, and technology refreshes with minimal mission impact.
• Configure Cisco network and security technologies, including Firepower appliances, FMC, and related services.
• Apply DISA STIGs, RMF, and cybersecurity controls while supporting vulnerability remediation and ACAS findings.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP address plans, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with admins, cybersecurity personnel, vendors to resolve cross-functional issues and support new capabilities.
