Job summary

Pioneering Evolution is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the security posture of SyncPoint, a DoD financial system operating in IL4. You will maintain SSPs, implement NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 controls, and serve as the technical security authority with cross‑functional teams.

The role is hands‑on, requiring collaboration with DevOps, infrastructure, and leadership to ensure a continuously audit‑ready compliance posture across Linux and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional cybersecurity experience and hands-on implementation of NIST SP 800-171/CMMC Level 2.
• Strong knowledge of least privilege, Zero Trust, IAM, encryption, network segmentation and vulnerability management.
• Experience with Linux administration, scripting, and cloud security in Azure or AWS.
• Ability to maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and evidence packages.

Responsibilities

• Support ATO lifecycle for SyncPoint and maintain SSPs and POA&Ms.
• Implement and validate NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 controls.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and leadership to embed security into design and operations.
• Configure IAM, network controls, and security monitoring across cloud and on‑prem environments.
