Job summary

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The role involves defending hospital IT ecosystems, coordinating security operations, and implementing defense-in-depth controls across enterprise networks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' DoD-related information assurance experience, CompTIA Security+, and strong knowledge of PKI, threat mitigation, and incident response. On-site Portsmouth, VA role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity regulations and frameworks.
• Experience with intrusion detection systems and network security design.

Responsibilities

• Define, coordinate, and monitor hospital information system security environment.
• Provide support for intrusion detection system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Assess site systems for appropriate software versions and patch levels.
• Demonstrate operation of intrusion detection system.
• Review network security designs and recommend secure configurations.
• Monitor network ingress/egress for intrusions.
• Develop, review, and implement security policies and standards.
• Design defense-in-depth security procedures across firewalls and IDS/IPS.
