Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Cheswick (Pittsburgh area) seeks a Welder to perform a range of metal-joining operations. You will receive work instructions, set up equipment, and weld components to drawing specifications while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a busy shop environment.

Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, positioning parts, operating welding equipment, and performing post-weld checks. DoD-related eligibility and security clearances are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen per DoD requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances.
• Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys; including castings, forgings, plates and bars.
• High school diploma and a certified welding program or equivalent.
• Experience with a variety of welding equipment (AC/DC, sub-arc, torches) and with safety PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform metal-joining operations per established procedures.
• Receive job instructions, work drawings, and other information; verify specifications.
• Set up welding equipment and fixtures; follow procedures and document sequences.
• Prepare surfaces, position parts, weld in all positions, and remove slag/defects.
• Operate ovens for pre-heating and monitor heat treatments when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace and proper equipment maintenance.
