Job description

FlightSafety International is the world’s premier professional aviation training company and supplier of flight simulators, visual systems and displays to commercial, government and military organizations. FlightSafety operates the world’s largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.

Purpose of Position

The Senior Specialist Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and identifying improvements by planning, implementing, and monitoring software framework solutions using specialized platform knowledge/experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Execute Product Specification, system design, development and system integration.
  2. Develop new product concepts and development, deliver product prototypes.
  3. Conduct new technology research, concept specification and design of individual software components.
  4. Participate in product and program collaboration.
  5. Refactor implementations to standardize on an event driven architecture.
  6. Refactor web application and services to be completely stateless and cloud ready.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience.
  2. 8+ years in Documentum development role.
  3. Webtop 16.x.
  4. DFC 22.x.
  5. Content Server 22.x.
  6. 2+ years of experience configuring Documentum D2.
  7. 8+ years in Java 1.8+ development role.
  8. Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  9. Strong knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST.
  10. Strong knowledge of GIT.
  11. Strong knowledge of Apache Maven.
  12. Experience with using Oracle as a backend preferred.

  1. Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  2. Knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST.
  3. Experience with using SQL Server as a backend preferred.
  4. Experience with TFS and Git preferred.
  5. Solid understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools, and processes.
  6. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  7. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  8. Maintain, configure and improve integration with COTS platforms.
  9. Troubleshoot and fix problems and provide root cause analysis in a timely manner.
  10. Exhibit and practice courteous, ethical and professional behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
  11. Act in a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on common goals to achieve mutually beneficial results.
  12. Be accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results.
  13. Prioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearly.
  14. Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills.
  15. Comply with all laws, regulations and company policies.
  16. Travel when required.
