Job summary

ABB is seeking a documentation control specialist to prepare, store, and version-control customer and supplier documents for projects. You will set up the document management system, issue communications on product changes, and harmonize formats globally.

A background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with MS Office and MS Project are essential. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and timely availability of technical documentation for Critical Power

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years’ experience in a service or manufacturing environment.
  • Associates Degree in electrical technology with 3+ years’ experience in service or manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work experience (5+ years) in service or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced ability to interact (written and verbal) within the organization.
  • Advanced level of MS Office proficiency.
  • Moderate ability to Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.
  • Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical documentation (MOPs, FPs, etc) for use by FSTs related to Critical Power Products.
  • Assist with documentation across different service functions.
  • Support harmonization of documentation format globally.
  • Issue communication on any product change affecting install base.
  • Manage ISO folder and document ID issuing.
  • Ensure proper version control in the document management system.
  • Set up the documentation management system and document controls process in conjunction with the project team.
