Position Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Document Controller is documentation management within the sourcing team.

Candidates should have a good understanding of the engineering and construction industry, including functions such as engineering, bidding, procurement, and construction.

The Document Controller will manage the intake, review, organization, and updating of construction documentation, ensuring proper storage and communication with stakeholders.

This role reports to the Sourcing Manager - Supply Chain and collaborates closely with the Business Development, Estimating, Engineering, and Operations teams.

  • Set up supply chain folders on documentation software like SharePoint.
  • Set up projects on estimating software such as SmartBid.
  • Manage incoming quotes: store, notify estimators, and update estimating software.
  • Oversee document control for the Sourcing team on SharePoint.
  • Assist with bid progress tracking: monitor vendor responses, follow up, and track questions.
  • Ensure document coherence and consistency throughout project lifecycle and across departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents.
  • Develop standardized documentation procedures and conduct audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree


Position Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or 2+ years of related document management experience in construction projects in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of electrical, civil, and other disciplines.
  • Understanding of project schedules and construction lifecycle.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Experience with collaborative management systems.
