Job description

Document Controller/Project Management System's Administrator - Launch Infrastructure Development
Own and streamline the RFI, submittal logs, and document control for launch infrastructure

Location: Titusville, Florida

About The Role
Document Controller/Project Management System's Administrator

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), Blue Origin is seeking a Document Controller/Project Management System's Administrator to support launch infrastructure development projects. This role owns the RFI process, the submittal process, document control, and project closeout/turnover documentation, and administers project management systems (e.g., Procore) to keep leadership and stakeholders informed through accurate reporting and briefings. The Document Controller/Project Management System's Administrator manages recurring project processes and information flow so the technical team can stay focused on construction execution. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the experience to manage assigned processes independently.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary RFI Manager, owning the logging, routing, tracking, and closeout of Requests for Information across all project disciplines.
  • Serve as the primary Submittal Manager, owning the submittal log and workflow, including distribution, review coordination, and tracking to ensure timely turnaround and compliance with project schedules.
  • Serve as the primary Document Controller, owning the organization, accuracy, version control, distribution, and archiving of all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
  • Own the administration of project management platforms (Procore or internally developed systems), including user access, workflows, document uploads, and reporting tools.
  • Own the project closeout process, establishing document collection requirements and tracking mechanisms early in the project to avoid end-of-project scrambles.
  • Track and collect as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and testing/commissioning documentation from contractors and subcontractors throughout construction.
  • Compile and manage final turnover packages, ensuring completeness and compliance with project and company standards prior to handoff to operations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and contractor teams to ensure closeout documentation requirements are understood and met on schedule.
  • Coordinate across the project team to manage recurring processes, deadlines, and deliverables that support construction execution.
  • Identify risks, delays, or gaps in information flow, and drive resolution across disciplines and contractors.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and contractor teams to resolve outstanding RFIs and submittals in a timely manner.
  • Support audits and document traceability requirements as needed.
  • Train and support project team members on system usage and best practices.
  • Generate system-based reports to support project tracking and decision-making.
  • Prepare regular project reports, dashboards, and status updates for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop and support project briefings, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Track key project metrics and support the project team in identifying trends, risks, and action items.
  • Support processing of DBIDS applications and badging for project personnel, subcontractors, and visitors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of access approvals, renewals, and expirations to support project onboarding logistics.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in project controls, project coordination, or document control on construction or industrial projects (a degree is not required; equivalent practical experience is valued).
  • Experience owning RFI and submittal logs and workflows on construction projects.
  • Experience tracking and managing closeout documentation (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties, testing/commissioning records) through to final turnover.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore or similar platforms).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a construction environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing assigned processes and responsibilities with minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or otherwise compliant with ITAR/EAR aerospace security controls.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting launch site, aerospace, or other critical infrastructure construction projects.
  • Familiarity with construction project documentation standards and workflows, including closeout and turnover requirements.
  • Working knowledge of document control best practices and systems.
  • Strong Excel and reporting/dashboard skills (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet).
  • Experience processing site access credentials (e.g., DBIDS) or badging for large construction or industrial sites is a plus.
