Essential Functions

The Document Control Specialist I is responsible for maintaining document control systems, including forms, worksheets, reports, and other controlled documents. This role also involves managing all documents generated within the quality systems, laboratory testing, and related certifications.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Generate Pack Lists and provide document packages for customers.
  • Enter Material Test Reports (MTR) into IQS, prepare documentation, and handle certification revisions and requests.
  • Retrieve historical information as needed and review documentation entered into IQS.
  • Perform final reviews and review the work of others.
  • Manage and maintain QC data records, both hard copies and electronic files.
  • Assist with backup tasks, such as investigating issues and entering heat codes into IQS.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience
  • 1-2 years of quality experience in a regulated industry, preferably with direct document control experience.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with document control activities is required, along with strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a document and data control system.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and handle delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands
  • Remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively within and across departments.
  • Occasionally lift up to twenty pounds.
  • Visually detect product issues.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment with multi-step production processes.
  • High-value, customized components requiring high precision.
  • Primarily office-based within a production environment.
  • Noise levels vary from quiet to high depending on the area.
  • May involve movement between office and production areas, following safety protocols.
