Job summary

Venture Logistics in Lafayette, IN is seeking a dedicated operations supervisor to oversee returnable and yard logistics in our dedicated facility. You will interact with customer associates, driver teams, and warehouse staff.

Shift: Mon-Thu 2:00 PM–10:00 PM; Fri 4:00 PM–2:30 AM. The role emphasizes clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and accurate freight movement reporting to keep operations moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Proficiency with TMW Office Suite is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound/outbound freight and related paperwork.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound freight to ensure timely delivery.
• Manage outbound freight and returns for Venture warehousing.
• Proactively communicate issues to plant and personnel.
• Assist in reporting for freight movement, identification, and tracking.
• May supervise plant loaders and spotters; oversee yard checks and foreign carrier freight.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

LOGISTICS FOR THE INDUSTRIOUS

Shift: Monday - Thursday 2:00PM to 10:00PM Friday 4:00PM to 2:30AM

POSITION SUMMARY

This position oversee (returnable and/or yard) operations in our dedicated facility. Requires interaction with our customer associates, our driver associates as well as our warehouse and management associates.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

• Manage inbound/outbound freight
• Manage paperwork and coordination of inbound/outbound freight
• Manage outbound freight and returns for Venture warehousing
• Be proactive in communication with the plant and our personnel regarding issues and needs
• Assist in any reporting necessary for freight movement, identification, and tracking
• May manage activities of our plant "loaders" and/or "spotters."
• May manage yard checks and foreign carrier inbound/outbound freight
• Regular and predictable attendance

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous supervisory experience
• TMW Office Suite proficiency

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transportation related fields

• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is essential
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive environment at the plant and yard operations
