JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary purpose:
Perform activities for construction and maintenance of company facilities, including installation, operation, and maintenance of all gas and liquid pipeline-related facilities. Assist in supervising and managing major pipeline construction projects, as well as pipeline relocation projects.
This position reports to a Construction Supervisor to ensure work performed complies with governmental and company policies and procedures. It will also work with and assist regional maintenance staff with projects and emergency responses.
Minimum requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; minimum three (3) years of industry experience.
- Experience/Knowledge: Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, thickness testing equipment; ability to work with a team, follow supervisor and inspector directions, focus on details, and adhere to schedules; strong mechanical skills; ability to operate heavy pipeline excavation equipment; experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, diagrams; knowledge of equipment operations, properties of metals, pipe SMYS grades, ANSI fitting pressure classes; intermediate MS Office skills.
- Certifications and Licenses: Maintain all qualifications and certifications, including regulatory welding certifications and a valid driver’s license.
- Skills & Abilities: Basic math skills; planning and organizational skills; good communication; customer focus; ability to perform multiple tasks under deadlines; maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications in natural gas and pipeline maintenance.
Physical Demands:
- Sitting, standing, walking, driving, talking, seeing (various vision abilities), hearing, feeling, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Prolonged sitting may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Respond to callouts/emergencies outside regular hours.
- Work varies from office to outdoor environments, sometimes in inclement weather.
- Work around industrial hazards, with frequent travel and occasional overtime.
- Living arrangements should support work location needs; may require carrying a cell phone and being available outside normal hours.
- Clear background, drug screening, and credit check may be required; willingness to work away from home up to 50% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience with handling flammable gases, liquids, high/low-pressure systems.
- Experience with API, ASME, DOT codes and standards.
- Operator Qualification (OQ) for pipeline maintenance.
- Class A/B CDL.
- Knowledge of Tallgrass policies, O&M procedures, construction practices, regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of HAZWOPER.
- Ability to sketch field drawings, as-builts, piping designs, BOMs, weld-maps.

Compensation: Salary range $35.38-$46.77.
