Job description

A Duie Pyle is seeking a Part-Time Outbound Dock Worker to work in our Saco, ME terminal. Our freight handlers are responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers and verifying related documentation via electronic or manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred. Our dockworkers may be asked to maintain a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Start time: 5:00-6:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: $21.35 per hour. The rate will increase to $22.35 after 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks.
  2. Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
  3. Utilizing a document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal.
  4. Communicating effectively with terminal personnel and drivers.
  5. Operating with a customer service-oriented mentality.
  6. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  7. Prior experience in warehousing, freight, or logistics (preferred).
  8. Following all company and government safety rules and regulations.
  9. Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
