Job summary

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a part-time outbound dockworker in Richmond, VA. This role safely transports freight on and off trailers and verifies documentation using electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Earn $22.75 per hour with a scheduled increase to $23.75 after 12 months. Work hours start at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekly pay via direct deposit. 401(k) with company match and annual profit sharing are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift or material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Prior warehousing, freight, and/or logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or electric pallet jack.
• Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
• Use document management system to track freight shipment locations.
• Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including day/night shifts, weekends/holidays.
• Operate with a customer service mindset.

Dockworker qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred
• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all company and government safety rules and regulations
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effective

Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment - forklift or electric pallet jack
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
• Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
• Operating with a customer service first mentality
