Job summary

A. Duie Pyle in Carteret, NJ is seeking a Part-time Outbound Dockworker to safely move freight on and off trailers and verify related documentation. Forklift or material handling experience is preferred, as well as basic English reading and writing skills.

The role requires adherence to safety policies and may include varied shifts. Compensation starts at $22.75/hour with a raise to $23.75/hour after 12 months.

Qualifications

• Prior warehousing, freight, and/or logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or electric pallet jack.
• Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers to ensure safe transport.
• Utilize document management system to track freight shipment locations across the terminal.
• Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers to coordinate movements.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts, weekends and holidays.

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a Part-time Outbound Dockworker to join our team in Carteret, NJ. This role is responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Dockworker qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred
• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all company and government safety rules and regulations
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively

Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment – forklift or electric pallet jack
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
• Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
• Operating with a customer service first mentality
