Job summary

Saia is seeking a Freight/ Dockworker to handle and sort freight in and out of over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks. Operators will use forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight while adhering to state, federal, and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include securing loads, verifying shipments, maintaining equipment, and promoting a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and legal authorization to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Warehouse or dock experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operate dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps, bars, airbags, and dunnage.
• Load, recoup, rewrap, and stack freight as needed.
• Verify shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follow bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely, cost-efficient shipments.
