Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Operator to load and unload freight across over-the-road equipment, containers, trailers and straight trucks. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight.

Responsibilities include securing loads, checking labels, logging shortages and damages, and maintaining a safe, efficient workplace in compliance with DOT regulations. High school diploma or GED and forklift certification preferred; pay range $26.55–$30.30 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Operates dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps and dunnage.
• Loads, recoups, rewraps, and stacks freight as needed.
• Verifies shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follows bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely shipments.
• Logs, reports, and processes shortages and damages to freight.
• Promotes and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
