Job summary

Saia is hiring dock associates in Tennessee. Full time and part time opportunities available. You will load and unload freight, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and help keep our docks safe and efficient.

You must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the U.S., and communicate in English. Pay rate ranges from $26.55 to $30.30 per hour depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform tasks and complete shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operates dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps, bars, air bags, cardboard, and dunnage.
• Loads, recoups, rewraps, and stacks freight as needed.
• Verifies shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follows established bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely, cost-efficient shipments.
• Logs, reports, and processes shortages and damages to freight.
• Promotes and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
