Job summary

Roadtex Transportation is seeking a forklift driver to support our warehouse operations in Greenville. The role involves inspecting, operating, and maintaining the forklift while loading and unloading goods from trucks and trailers.

You will help keep accurate inventory records and maintain a clean, organized work area. The ideal candidate has at least 3 months of forklift experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to complete internal forklift certification training.

Qualifications

• 3 months forklift experience or experience with warehouse distribution equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass internal Forklift Certification Training and safety procedures
• Able to perform job tasks in dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions

Responsibilities

• Inspect forklift before use and ensure it is in proper working condition
• Load and unload materials onto trucks using the forklift
• Maintain inventory records and report discrepancies
• Operate forklift safely and responsibly
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Report forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed

Position Overview

To perform this job, a forklift driver must be familiar with the forklift's controls and capabilities. They should also have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and have good communication skills. Additionally, physical strength and stamina may be required as the job may involve lifting and moving heavy materials and goods.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspecting the forklift before use to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Loading and unloading materials and goods onto and off trucks, trailers, or storage areas using the forklift.
• Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies to management.
• Ensuring that the forklift is always operated in a safe and responsible manner
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Reporting any forklift malfunctions or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed

Requirements

• At least 3 months forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Ability to successfully pass internal Forklift Certification Training and demonstrate safety procedures
• Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear
• The employee may frequently stand on their feet
• The employee is regularly required to lift and move up to 50lbs. Occasionally the employee may need to lift up to 65lbs, - should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift
• The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body - bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching
