Job summary

Genesis Staffing in Mobile, AL is seeking Stevedoring Laborers with a valid TWIC card to join our dockside team. The role involves loading and unloading cargo from vessels, securing cargo, and assisting with staging and transfer in both dock and warehouse areas.

Candidates must be able to work in physically demanding conditions, including heights and confined spaces, with shifts up to 60 hours per week, day and night 12-hour shifts; travel to Pascagoula, MS as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid TWIC card.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
• Comfort working at heights and in vessel holds.
• Previous stevedoring, dock work, or heavy labor experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to travel between Mobile and Pascagoula as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently from vessels, barges, and trucks.
• Secure cargo using proper rigging, blocking, and bracing techniques.
• Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes (with training/certification).
• Assist with staging, organizing, and transferring cargo in the warehouse and dock areas.
• Climb ladders, gangways, and vessel structures to access work areas.
• Enter confined spaces such as vessel hatches and holds to position or secure cargo.
• Work in varying conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and outdoor environments.
• Follow all safety procedures, port rules, and company policies.
