Job summary

Blount County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is seeking a Dock Worker – Donation Receiving & Loading to greet donors, safely load donations, and prepare items for pricing on the sales floor. This on-site role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs, pass a background check, and comply with safety procedures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the dock with a friendly, professional attitude and thank them for their support.
• Safely lift, carry, and load/unload furniture, appliances, and other donated items from vehicles and trucks
• Inspect donations for quality and safety, and politely decline items that don't meet ReStore guidelines
• Sort and stage incoming donations for pricing and placement on the sales floor
• Operate hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks to move heavy or bulky items
• Keep the donation dock, loading area, and storage space clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Assist with loading purchased items into customers' vehicles as needed
• Support pickup crews with loading and unloading the donation truck when scheduled
• Follow all safety procedures for lifting, equipment use, and hazardous material handling
• Perform other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager

• Strong customer service instincts; enjoys interacting with donors and shoppers
• Prior experience with warehouse, moving, delivery, or retail stockroom work is a plus, but not required
