Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker in Bethlehem to efficiently load and unload freight, ensuring accuracy and safety. The role uses forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual methods to move goods, with emphasis on securing loads and complying with DOT guidelines.

You'll support warehouse operations and contribute to on-time deliveries. The Dockworker will read shipping labels, complete freight documents, and monitor locations using the yard management system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with safe lifting and transporting procedures; knowledge of freight movement and loading techniques.
• Familiarity with shipping forms and freight documents.
• Ability to monitor shipment locations with the dock yard management system.
• Must be available to work varying schedules to meet customer pickups/deliveries.
• Ability to operate a handheld tablet when needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines.
• Use various loading techniques (e.g., tight loading, cross loading).
• Move freight throughout the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Monitor freight locations with the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets and straps.
• Ensure quality loading of all trailers.
• Maintain safety and efficiency in operations.
