Job summary

Alaska Marine Lines is seeking candidates for a Freight Operations/Dock to Driver role in Haines, Alaska. The program pays for CDL training and hires as Freight Handlers with the goal of advancing to Class-A CDL driving through our dock-to-driver training path.

Successful candidates will work on the dock and routes, learn our processes, and become CDL-ready. A safety-sensitive, full-time position offering family-friendly benefits and professional growth is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a Commercial Learner's Permit from the State of Alaska.
• Ability to obtain a Class-A CDL from the State of Alaska is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks and trailers to ensure safe operating condition.
• Check shipping papers for proper descriptions and hazardous materials information.
• Load and unload freight and secure shipments with straps/ropes.
• Operate forklifts and assist in warehouse duties on the dock.
• Maintain records for compliance with state, federal, and corporate rules.
