Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) seeks a Dock Shipper/ Receiver to handle inbound receipts and outbound packing for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri). You'll verify part numbers, inspect shipments, and prepare documentation for each step in the repair process in a climate-controlled facility.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate cranes and forklifts. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and handling increasingly complex tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in shipping/receiving or warehouse.
  • Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Experience with domestic and/or international shipments.
  • Ability to follow instructions and read work orders.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound parts, sign receipts, review work scope and document accurately.
  • Unpack and inspect inbound parts; report discrepancies or damage.
  • Verify part numbers, serial numbers, and manifests for accuracy.
  • Prepare paperwork and documentation for next step processing.
  • Move parts using pallet jacks, cranes and forklifts; ensure safe handling.

Shipping and Receiving is a multi-faceted position responsible for accepting inbound shipments of turbine engine components from around the world and the requirements of preparing repaired components for outbound shipping.

Inbound shipments must be tracked, inspected, and documented for the next step in the repair process. Outbound shipments follow a detailed written process to ensure the inspection, packaging and safe handling of the critical turbine engine component is accomplished.

The position performs its primary functions in a climate-controlled and modern state-of-the-art facility. Through our extensive in-house training program, the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the skills of the position. As your skills increase, so will your responsibilities, giving you hands-on experience, growth, and additional responsibilities.

1. Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

2. Receive all incoming parts, sign receipts, review documentation and requested work scope and record accurately.

3. Unpack and inspect inbound parts. Report and document any discrepancies or damage to the inbound part.

4. Verify part numbers, serial numbers, and manifest for accuracy.

5. Prepare required paperwork and documentation folder for next step processing of inbound part.

6. Move part and associated documentation folder(s) to the next operation or warehouse part for future work.

7. Use pallet jacks, skids, overhead cranes and forklifts (lift trucks) to move inbound and outbound parts.

8. Perform outbound part documentation review, package part for shipping using detailed instruction sheets, ensure quality control aspects and inspection of the outbound parts have been accomplished. Record as required.

9. Take digital photos to document condition of and/or damage to part on inbound processing and on outbound shipping to document condition of the part shipped to ensure quality control standards.

10. Display a positive attitude and degree of professionalism as this position may interact with multiple departments across the company.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. A minimum of one year’s experience in any type of shipping, receiving or warehouse capacity.

2. Experience in the use of overhead cranes, pallet jacks forklifts/lift trucks.

3. Exposure to domestic and/or international shipping of parts.

4. Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.

5. Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record for the past 3 years is required.

a. Employee will be required to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record Check upon offer of employment and annually thereafter. An unacceptable record includes a DUI, Reckless Operations and/or Fleeing the Scene of an Accident.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

1. High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.

2. Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

3. Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.

4. Careful attention to detail.

5. Capable of handling multiple tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing.

2. Work in varying positions from time to time. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods. Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, or carts.

3. Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.

4. Use powered and hand-held tools frequently.

5. Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions. The following may or may not be required.
