Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a Dock Supervisor to oversee terminal operations, including sorting, handling, loading, and unloading Freight. You will manage daily dockworker activities and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.

The role requires supervision experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, forklift certification or hazmat training, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform duties including interpreting instructions and completing shipping documents.

Responsibilities

Oversees safe and efficient dock operations for all terminal staff.
Directs and evaluates dockworkers to ensure proper equipment use and adherence to procedures.
Conducts daily inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, DOT standards, and other regulations.
Trains and coaches dockworkers on safety practices, performance, customer service, and equipment usage.
Reviews operational reports and provides recommendations to improve terminal efficiency and service.
Promotes and enforces a safe, clean, and organized dock environment.
