Job summary

Kirby seeks a Supervisory Dock Operations role in Corpus Christi to oversee dock cleaning operations for dock, fuel dock, and flare dock. You’ll coordinate with coordinators and dispatch, ensure accurate documentation, and enforce Kirby safety policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and preferred 1+ year barge cleaning experience. Expect 12-hour rotating shifts, daily reporting, and active safety responsibilities with equipment maintenance support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of barge cleaning experience preferred.
• Advanced computer skills required (Outlook, Oracle, Oasis, Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Access emphasized).

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations and its employees for cleaning dock, fuel dock, and flare dock.
• Handle communications between cleaning coordinators, tower/dispatch, and within the facility.
• Ensure correct data is documented on all forms, paper and digital.
• Work daily with cleaning coordinator for stripping candidates and barge due dates.
• Help push Kirby’s safety messages.
• Ensure all employees are working safely.
• Ensure all employees follow Kirby policies and use correct personal protective equipment.
• Work with management to maximize dock efficiency.
• Look for ways to reduce delays in active operations.
• Oversee gauging tanks, trailers, and totes for daily reports.
• Oversee loading totes as required, label containers and trailers as required.
• Ensure proper labeling of containers and trailers.
• Help ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working order including pumps, hoses, blowers, forklift, crane.
• Maintain gauging report, waste inventories, AST Inspection checklist, rain/storm water report, and collect gas meter reading and send to Administrative Assistant and file.
• All other duties as assigned.
