Job summary

Saia is seeking a Terminal Operations Supervisor to oversee dock operations, directing and evaluating dockworkers to ensure proper equipment use and adherence to procedures. This role ensures daily compliance with DOT standards and company policies, while maintaining a safe, efficient terminal.

You will train and coach staff on safety practices, performance, and loading/unloading procedures, review reports, and drive continuous improvement in terminal efficiency and service.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English in order to perform job tasks.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred: 5+ years in warehouse, dock, forklift or pallet jack experience.
• Preferred: prior supervisory experience and knowledge of DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient dock operations for all terminal staff.
• Direct and evaluate dockworkers to ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections to maintain compliance with company policies and government regulations.
• Train and coach dockworkers on safety practices, operational performance, customer service, and equipment usage.
• Review operational reports and provide recommendations to improve terminal efficiency and service.
• Promote and enforce a safe, clean, and organized dock environment.
