Job summary

Saia is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee terminal dock operations, including sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight. You will direct daily dockworker activities and ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.

The role requires 5+ years in warehouse or dock operations, supervisory experience, knowledge of DOT regulations, forklift certification or hazmat training, and a commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 18 years of age and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required; ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred; knowledge of dock operations and safety rules.
• Experience with DOT regulations and safety procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient dock operations for all terminal staff.
• Direct and evaluate dockworkers to ensure proper equipment use and procedures.
• Conduct daily inspections to meet policies, DOT standards, and regs.
• Train and coach dockworkers on safety, performance, and equipment use.
• Review reports and suggest improvements for terminal efficiency and service.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized dock environment.
