Job summary

Saia is seeking a skilled Terminal Operations Supervisor to oversee dock operations, directing and evaluating dockworkers, and ensuring DOT and company compliance. The role ensures safe, efficient handling, loading and unloading of freight across the terminal.

You will train staff, review operational reports, and implement improvements to sustain high service levels. The position requires 5+ years in warehouse or dock operations and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in warehouse, freight, dock, forklift, or pallet jack experience.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversees safe and efficient dock operations for all terminal staff.
• Directs and evaluates dockworkers to ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to procedures.
• Conducts daily inspections to maintain compliance with company policies, DOT standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Trains and coaches dockworkers on safety practices, operational performance, and equipment usage.
• Reviews operational reports and provides recommendations to improve terminal efficiency and service.
• Promotes and enforces a safe, clean, and organized dock environment.
