Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is seeking a forklift and dock associate to sort and handle freight in and out of over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight, ensuring security and compliance with DOT regulations.

The role requires forklift experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift heavy objects. A hazmat or forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Warehouse, freight, dock, forklift, or pallet jack experience is preferred.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training is preferred.
• Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operate dock tools to ensure freight is loaded securely and properly.
• Load, recoup, rewrap and stack freight as needed.
• Verify shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follow bill and quality control procedures to ensure timely and cost-efficient shipments.
• Log, report, and process shortages and damages to freight.
• Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
