Base Pay Range

$88,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

Position Overview

DIRECT HIRE: An excellent opportunity for an experienced Dock Master in Ketchikan, AK, with a company specializing in shipbuilding, ship repair, and handling complex projects supporting energy, infrastructure, and defense. Salary: $88K - $110K (dependent on experience). Benefits include PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, disability insurance, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.

The role involves ensuring a safe operating environment by overseeing installation, maintenance, and repairs of machinery and utility systems, and coordinating vessel docking operations while maintaining safety standards. The individual will set departmental goals, policies, and procedures. The role encompasses acting as Facility Manager, Dockmaster, Security Manager, and Master Rigger.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the safety and operational efficiency of dock and vessel activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers and customer service for vessel operations.
  • Utilize CAD for planning dockings and undockings, perform stability calculations, and maintain weight logs.
  • Lead preventive maintenance programs and supervise related teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee facility repairs, maintenance, and equipment installations.
  • Prepare budgets, manage expenses, and oversee security operations.
  • Supervise heavy rigging and lifting operations, managing all related equipment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; BA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of marine or plant engineering experience, with 5+ years in management and 3+ years in drydocking.
  • Knowledge of shipyard operations, heavy rigging, and industrial equipment.
  • Certifications may be required for naval vessel docking.
