Job summary

DO & CO is seeking a Dock Helper to join our New York team. You will move catering equipment from staging areas to loading docks, load flights into catering vehicles, and assist drivers.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product up to 75 pounds.
  • Open availability for days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines with a substantial workload.
  • Must meet ID requirements to obtain a PANYNJ ID (Port Authority NY/NJ per TSA, 49 CFR 1542.209).

Responsibilities

  • Move catering equipment from staging area to assigned loading dock as directed.
  • Load flights into catering vehicles and assist drivers.
  • Complete quality control steps: add missing items, ice, inform assembly of missing carts or bulk items.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and report issues to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the movement of catering equipment (flights) from their respective staging area to the corresponding assigned loading dock as indicated by Dispatch or Dock Control.
  • Load flights into catering vehicles and assist drivers in doing so.
  • Perform completing activities to ensure quality controlled flights such as, but not limited to: Add missing items, add ice, inform flight assembly of missing carts, canisters or bulk loaded items.
  • Comply with food, safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook and report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Proactive and self-organized.
  • Able to manage through a substantial workload.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Able to meet requirements necessary to obtain a PANYNJ ID (Port Authority NY/NJ per TSA regulations and, more specifically, 49 CFR
  • 1542.209).
  • Must have open availability to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
