Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to move freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate forklifts and hand trucks, secure cargo, and verify that freight documents match type and weight for loading and unloading.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift heavy objects, and a willingness to work independently or as part of a team in varying weather conditions. Prior warehousing or forklift experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and documentation checks.
• Ability to lift and move heavy freight repeatedly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets and straps.
• Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight paperwork.
• Perform hostling duties as required.
• Follow applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Take on additional duties as required.
