Job description

Material Handler: Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods, and rejects unsatisfactory items. Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment, posts weights and shipping charges. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks, and distributes merchandise, products, and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing lines.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Level Description: Demonstrates advanced proficiency in all areas of the function and specialized knowledge in some.

Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.

Years of Related Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities. Frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Use of Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory when working in the field, production, or warehouse.
