Job summary

The State of Illinois is seeking an Office Associate at Dixon Correctional Center to perform administrative tasks within the Clinical Services unit. You will assist with visitor coordination, scheduling, and communication between custody staff and civilians.

Responsibilities

  • Receives inquiries/questions/complaints from individuals in custody and civilians related to video visitation, telephone system, MP3 players/software and electronic messaging.
  • Receives and reviews potential visitor information forms from civilians, communicates with civilians to complete forms, routes forms for approval.
  • Prints daily video/in-person visitation schedules and delivers schedules to appropriate staff.
  • Serves as back up to clerical staff in Clinical Services and as back up receptionist for the unit.

Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a detailed and energetic Visitor Coordinator. The ideal candidate will serve as the Visitor Coordinator to the Clinical Services unit that is providing services for a growing population of individuals in custody. Essential Functions
  • Coordinates and completes tasks that allow individuals in custody to communicate with civilians.
  • Receives inquiries/questions/complaints from individuals in custody and civilians related to video visitation, individuals in custody telephone system, MP3 players/software and electronic messaging.
  • Receives and reviews potential visitor information forms (PVI) from civilians, communicates with civilians to complete forms, routes PVI forms for approval.
  • Prints daily video/in-person visitation schedules and delivers schedules to appropriate staff.
  • Serves as back up to clerical staff in Clinical Services.
  • Serves as back up receptionist for Clinical services.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard 45 words per minute.

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
