Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics to join field teams across the DMV region. The role involves installing commercial ductwork and related sheet metal components on new construction and renovation projects, ensuring safe, accurate, and on-schedule installations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on ductwork experience, can read mechanical drawings, and takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience.
• Hands-on experience installing ductwork in commercial buildings.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with duct layout, sheet metal installation, and mechanical construction.
• Knowledge of sheet metal materials, installation methods, and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew.
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV region.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
• Lay out air-distribution systems according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Install dampers, fittings, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and modify sheet metal materials.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Coordinate installation activities with foremen, field crews, and other trades.
• Communicate material needs, field conflicts, and installation concerns promptly.
