AEP in the United States is seeking an entry-level to mid-level DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst to support ICCP infrastructure, troubleshoot real-time data exchanges, and assist in configuring points with OpenICCP.

You will collaborate with Operations, EMS, ADMS, and external partners, participate in after-hours rotations, and document changes while developing SQL-based data analyses under guidance.

Qualifications

  • Entry level understanding of operational practices in applicable equipment and software.
  • Strong communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation skills are essential.
  • Solid understanding of business unit/operating company systems preferred.
  • Experience with SCADA systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain ICCP infrastructure and real-time data exchanges.
  • Configure, model, test ICCP points using OpenICCP and Data Explorer.
  • Investigate and resolve ICCP communication issues and data quality concerns.
  • Perform point modeling and configuration activities using OpenICCP configuration tools.
  • Support onboarding of new ICCP partners and data exchange requirements.
  • Monitor system health and respond to operational issues affecting real-time data.
  • Work with Operations, EMS, ADMS, and external entities to ensure reliable data exchange.
  • Develop and execute troubleshooting plans for complex data-flow issues.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
  • Create, modify, and run SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting.

**Job Summary**TOPS SCADA, Provide technical support for computer Distribution Management Systems (DMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS) or Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other technical infrastructure used in Distribution/Transmission Operations centers. Position requires a high degree of adaptability, and a focus on meeting customer needs and continuous improvement in the systems supported., Protection and Control SCADA, Provide some technical support Assist Protection and Control Engineering (PCE) SCADA Standards and Production activities related to Distribution or AEP Transmission. Assist in areas of standards development, scoping, RTU setting creation, and implementation troubleshooting. A high ability to organize and coordinate customer needs will be required.**Job Description**This posting represents a role which can be filled at multiple levels. The description below shows the requirements for the DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst Associate (SG5) with increased requirements for the DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst (SG6) and DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst (SG7) level.**What you'll do: Essential Job Functions & Tasks:*** Support and maintain ICCP infrastructure and associated real-time data exchanges.* Configure, model, test, and troubleshoot ICCP points and connections using OpenICCP and related applications.* Investigate and resolve ICCP communication issues, data quality concerns, telemetry discrepancies, and point failures.* Perform point modeling and configuration activities using OpenICCP configuration tools and Data Explorer.* Support onboarding of new ICCP partners and implementation of new data exchange requirements.* Monitor system health and respond to operational issues impacting real-time data communications.* Work with Operations, EMS, ADMS, and external entities to ensure reliable exchange of critical operational data.* Perform testing and validation of ICCP communications, including support of redundancy and failover testing activities.* Develop and execute troubleshooting plans for complex communication and data flow issues.* Support compliance activities associated with reliability standards and operational technology systems.* Participate in after-hours support rotations and incident response activities as required.* Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting activities, and system changes.* Ability to create, modify, and execute SQL queries for data analysis, system validation, and technical troubleshooting.**What we're looking for:****Education requirements are listed below:**Associates Degree or higher from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field; or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.**Work Experience requirement listed below:**No experience necessary with degree or as stated above. Education - associate's degree or equivalent technical, utility or military experience. Experience - high school diploma and two years related military, technical, or utility experience.\\*\\***Other Must Haves:*** Demonstrates Entry Level understanding of operational practices of applicable equipment and software in assigned areas of knowledge. Strong skills in communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation are essential.* Solid understanding of the business unit / operating company systems is preferred.Experience with SCADA systems preferred.* Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution in assigned areas of knowledge with Senior Level guidance.* Provide after-hours support for the EMS/SCADA systems as needed. Begin to gain an understanding of current technology utilized by AEP and understanding how it applies to SCADA with Senior Level guidance.* Begin to gain an understanding of basic Protection and Control application and the affect it has on overall SCADA with Senior Level guidance.* Begins to gain an understanding of what each type of equipment is in the substation with Senior Level guidance.**Preferred Experience:**Experience in SQL is preferred.**What you’ll get:**Base Salary from $63,496.00-$79,369.00/year.
