Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of health care experience including referral processing and working with the public.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience using on-line computer systems.
• Associates degree OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
• High School Diploma OR GED required.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify need, and authorize or deny patient care staff initiated DME referrals.
• Negotiate case-specific prices with DME vendors and coordinate equipment delivery.
• Determine member eligibility for DME services and interpret benefit limitations.
• Process DME claims and authorize reimbursement per guidelines.
• Educate members and providers on DME processes and CMN completion.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare regulations and related guidelines.
