Job summary

Nebraska Orthopaedic Center in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Cast Technician to join our orthopedic team. This full-time role features a typical schedule of Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with duties focused on immobilization care and patient support.

You will apply and remove casts, fit braces, educate patients, maintain clean exam rooms, and uphold HIPAA privacy. A High School Diploma or GED and one year of medical office experience are preferred; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies, removes, and assesses the need for changes of all types of orthopaedic casts and immobilization devices.
• Measures and fits custom braces.
• Educates patients and families regarding the application and wearing of orthotic devices and serves as a resource via telephone.
• Maintains patient care environment including orders, receiving, and stores supplies; cleans/stocks exam and cast rooms; assists in cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
• Attends required clinic meetings and participates in professional development activities.
• Performs related work as required.

• Maintains patient care environment including orders, receiving, and stores supplies; cleans/stocks exam and cast rooms; assists in cleaning and sterilization of instruments.
• Assist with fitting braces and special casts when needed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines.
• Attends required clinic meetings and participates in professional development activities.
• Performs related work as required.
