Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician for the Oklahoma City site. The role requires duties across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular and microbiology with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

The position emphasizes quality patient results, adherence to policies, and teamwork in a fast-paced lab environment. Overtime and rotating shifts may apply, and a Sign-On Bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular and microbiology.
• Assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Follow employer and hospital policies.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Main responsibility will be duties in the clinical laboratory.
• Additional duties will include assisting supervisor/manager with special projects/assignments.

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Hours: 2200-0630; with rotating weekends and holidays

Essential Functions

Qualifications

• Good understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, to identify cause and synthesize alternatives.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to interact positively with coworkers.
• Ability to use independent judgement to solve problems.
• Able to manage time, prioritize, and delegate.
• Good computer skills a plus.
• Knowledge in Epic and MediaLab is a plus.

Required Experience

• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology.
• ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification.

Perform the previous two job duties/functions as a collaborative member of your work team and with a personal disposition that is positive and supportive of your fellow team members.

This full-time position works 8 hour night shifts- Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
