Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our diagnostic team. You will perform tests in microbiology and assist with specimen processing, following QA/QC protocols and standard lab procedures.

Expect a 10-hour shifts schedule, weekday hours with rotating weekends, and a structured, team-focused environment that values accuracy, reliability, and patient care.

Qualifications

• General laboratory knowledge, including the ability to use computers.

• Previous experience in Microbiology or Molecular Biology preferred.

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Qualifications

Required Knowledge

Required Experience

• AS degree in Medical Lab Technology or BS in Medical Technology. ASCP MT/MLT certification or equivalent or be eligible for national MT/MLT certification.

Special Requirements

• Ability to maintain a professional courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
• Teamwork with fellow employees is a must.
• Keyboard skills are important.
• Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude.
• Must work overtime or other shifts if required.
• Able to work 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

Licenses and Certifications

• ASCP Certification (Preferred)
