Join us in making a difference at DJS! The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is dedicated to transforming young lives, creating safer communities, and fostering equitable systems. We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of DJS Facility Cook I. This position will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of youth in a structured and nurturing environment. You will provide safe, nutritious meals and support staff and youth as needed, helping create a positive and supportive atmosphere aligned with our mission.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the Maryland Correctional Training Commission regulation.
Experience: One (1) year of experience cooking, baking, or preparing large quantities of food in a restaurant, institutional, or military setting. Experience in a fast-food restaurant or as a short-order cook does not qualify.
