Kaizen Lab Inc. is seeking a DIY Staff - Part-Time to support visitors in MAKE, a makerspace in Baltimore. The role emphasizes assisting children, facilitating Do-It-Yourself activities with creativity and experimentation, and providing friendly guest services.
You'll learn on the job, with background in making, science, or art welcomed. Availability 9:45-5:00, three days a week including one weekend day. Must pass background check and be able to lift 25 pounds.
Do you like to make things? Do you like working with children and sharing new skills with them? Support guests as they learn through tinkering. Responsibilities include facilitating Do-It-Yourself activities with an emphasis on creativity and experimentation. Prior experience with art, printmaking, basic power tools, or sewing is welcome, but you will also be able to learn skills on the job to help run a wide spectrum of activities. Prior experience in customer service and interaction with school-age children is highly desired.
Availability: 9:45-5:00 three days a week (Tuesday - Sunday), including at least one weekend day, is required
A background or interest in making, science, teaching, fine arts or other related field is preferred.

This employee normally performs some of the work of a higher-level position in the process of gaining knowledge and experience necessary for advancement and may also perform some of the work of a lower-rated position when required. Normal duties and responsibilities include assistance to other employees.
