Qualifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of New York.
• Experience in matrimonial law preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend virtual and in-person court appearances.
• Interview clients in various settings.
• Advise clients on legal issues with trauma-informed approach.
• Provide representation in pre-trial conferences, motions, hearings and trials.
• Prepare petitions, pleadings, discovery demands, briefs and notices of appeal.
• Participate in negotiations, settlements and mediations.
• Draft correspondence, file documents, and maintain case records.
• Collaborate with unit attorneys and supervising attorneys as needed.
• Attend meetings with community service providers and at events.
• Represent clients at outreach events and information sessions.
• Research and apply civil law and local regulations.
• Stay current on civil law developments and case law.
