Job summary
The Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. seeks a Staff Attorney for the Civil Legal Services Unit to represent clients in eviction defense and related housing matters.

Qualifications
- Active membership in the State Bar of New York and housing/landlord-tenant experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; able to work in a team.
- Computer proficiency including word processing and computerized legal research.
Responsibilities
- Attend court appearances, in-person or virtual.
- Advise and counsel clients on housing-related issues.
- Prepare legal filings, motions and briefs for eviction defense cases.
- Represent clients in negotiations, hearings and trials.
- Collaborate with unit attorneys and supervising attorneys as needed.
