Job summary

The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division seeks a Divisional Music Director to provide leadership, direction, and creative programming for all phases of the Music Program. The DMD will collaborate with the Program Secretary to strengthen and coordinate ministry efforts, ensuring high artistic, musical, and spiritual standards across corps in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music education or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Committed, mature Christian upholding The Salvation Army’s mission.
• Minimum five years of experience in music leadership or supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive Salvation Army vehicles.
• Regular Corps participation and uniform wear for worship sessions.
• Clearances: PA Child Abuse History, Criminal Record, and FBI fingerprint checks required.

Responsibilities

• Promote active music ministry programs across Corps in the Western PA Division.
• Recruit, train, and lead a Divisional Worship Team and brass/voice/piano/guitar programs.
• Develop curricula for brass, voice, piano, and guitar at the Corps level.
• Coordinate scheduling of Divisional Music and Creative Arts events (DMA) and be present at related assemblies.
• Oversee divisional music resources, budgets, and social media accounts related to WPA Music and Arts.
• Provide leadership for special music ministry programs and be prepared to lead public gatherings and services.
