Job summary

Thompson Concrete in Kentucky is seeking a Divisional Development Leader to build training systems, develop people, and strengthen leaders across the division. This role owns training and development initiatives while collaborating with Operations and HR to onboard and grow team members.

The position emphasizes coaching, curriculum design, KPI tracking, succession planning, and continuous improvement through field visits, data analysis, and feedback from operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Training, Safety, Operations, or HR in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience managing and/or developing training programs.
  • Familiarity with working in cross-functional collaborative roles.
  • Experience with developing and implementing SOP’s and setting KPI’s.
  • Experience conducting performance evaluations for multiple roles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
  • Strong ability to communicate, problem-solve and lead by example.
  • 30-Hour OSHA Certification (will train, if necessary)
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (will train, if necessary)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations and HR to onboard, train, and develop new team members
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing Crew Leaders and other future leaders
  • Designing and implementing divisional training programs and curriculum
  • Building leadership development and succession planning across the division
  • Identifying workforce gaps and implementing plans to support growth
  • Partnering with Recruiters to improve hiring success, retention, and readiness
  • Developing systems that improve accountability and execution across the division
  • Tracking and monitoring quality, safety, retention, training, and performance metrics
  • Analyzing performance data and identifying ways to improve divisional productivity
  • Identifying root causes impacting performance and developing improvement initiatives
  • Conducting field visits to understand the full scope of operations and build relationships
  • Gathering feedback from Operations and field personnel to drive continuous improvement
  • Performing additional tasks related to divisional improvement as this role evolves

Job description

The Divisional Development Leader (DDL) is responsible for developing people, strengthening leaders, and building training systems designed to improve performance and help our team reach its full potential. As Operations owns execution, this role owns training and development.

Note: Prior experience in construction is not a requirement for this role

Starting Salary

for this role is$75,000 to $105,000, (depending on experience) plus an opportunity to earn a 10% Annual Performance Bonus
