Job summary

Master’s Transportation, Inc. in Kansas City, MO, seeks an experienced Controller to lead financial reporting, monthly closes, and internal controls for a growing transportation business.

You will partner with the CEO and operations leaders to provide actionable insights and strong financial discipline. The role is a 100% in-person leadership position at our headquarters in the Kansas City area, focused on scale, process improvement, and robust reporting across multiple revenue streams including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 8-10 years of senior accounting/finance experience.
• CPA or CA preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Experience with financial, accounting and inventory software systems.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new financial systems.
• Private sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate statements.
• Own general ledger integrity, COA, accounting policies, and US GAAP compliance.
• Develop internal controls and SOPs to safeguard assets and cash.
• Drive annual budget and rolling forecasts; analyze variances and actions.
• Oversee AR/AP, billing, cash management, and disbursements.
• Prepare dashboards and insights for CEO and leadership team.
• Ensure revenue, fleet, inventory, and production data align with operations.
• Manage fleet/inventory accounting and support operational reporting.
• Coordinate external accountants/auditors and tax filings.
